Carl Waldekranz, 30, grew up in Stockholm and started his first company at 18, a boutique design agency with early clients such as Spotify and Nokia. The agency was quickly acquired by Sweden’s biggest brand development agency: Identity Works. Carl, struck hard with the entrepreneurial bug, was already focused on the next endeavor. Along with three friends, Carl created a tool that empowers small business owners to set up a beautiful online store in a matter of minutes that then provides them with automatic timely advice on how to increase sales. Today this platform is Tictail: a DIY e-commerce platform for independent brands around the world as well as a global marketplace to discover emerging retailers, tomorrow’s biggest brands, and shop them. Carl has always had an interest in fashion, design and art, and prides Tictail on being a technology platform and that bridges the gap between amazing technology and an engaged community of creatives who value and seek out high quality design.
In 2014, Carl opened Tictail’s NYC office and today lives in the East Village with his girlfriend, Babba, and their Boston Terrier puppy, Little Blue.
