Chief Product Officer, Galeria Kaufhof
Arik Reiter has joined Galeria Kaufhof in November 2015 as Chief Product Officer. In his role he is responsible for all ecommerce platform developments of HBC in Europe including Germany, Netherlands and Belgium incl destinations galeria-kaufhof.de, hudsonsbay.nl, inno.be and saksoff5th.de among others.
Main strategic initiatives under Ariks Leadership besides general platform growth and leading digital transformation are International Expansion, Mobile Platform Growth, Machine Learning and Artifical Intelligence driven Product recommendations as well as delivering a wide range of Omnichannel Services and Loyalty Programs in order to provide seamless experiences to customers resulting in two digit growth numbers (%) in revenue and traffic p.a.. Galeria Kaufhof owns one of the fastest Shops in Germany using latest „bleeding Edge“ technologies and has a unique vertical architecture to support specialist know how and development throughout the customer journey. All platforms are delivered with a mobile first and agile mindset and approach from day one.
Origially from Marburg, Arik is holding a Master in Business Administration from the University of Fulda. In his early career Arik had the chance to deeply understand the german retail industry while working as a project manager for the specialized trade marketing agency Pro Sales GmbH, developing the first internet based media planning tool for point of sales activities in retail outlets (POSIS – Point Of Sale Information System) which was awarded as „Media Tool of the Year“ by Media & Marketing Magazine in 1999.
Between 2000 and 2012 Arik was working for Monster Worldwide in several Product Leadership roles such as Global VP of Employer Products based in Boston as well as becoming member of the European Leadership Team based in London in 2009 as Vice President Product Europe, managing 21 platforms in 26 languages. During his tenure at Monster his main responsibility was meeting the needs of recruiters and applicants with award winning services (website of the year, users choice) in all aspects achieving and maintaining market leadership within the recruitment industry for many years in Europe.
Between 2012 and 2015 Arik served Stepstone in Continental Europe and Totaljobs in the UK as VP of Complementary Products to enhance the Recruitment Product Portfolio of the group by lanching a variety of services such as a new Direct Search approach including innovative semantic/ linguistic search capabilities and the worlds first candidate sourcing app and other recruitment portfolio services.
In private Arik had and still has a passion for Pool Billiards throughout his life, having won several national and european championships in the late 90s and early 2000s. He is married and lives with two daughters in Fulda in the Center of Germany and Europe, while working out of Cologne HQ of HBC Europe.
