Charmaine Huet is the Chief Marketing Officer of Woolworths South Africa, the leading premium lifestyle retailer in the region, operating through 526 stores across Africa and online, and within the WHL Group, trading through Country Road Group and David Jones in Australia and New Zealand.
A relentless innovator, Charmaine has pioneered a number of transformational initiatives during her 34 year retail career. Passionate about both design and sustainability, Charmaine established an industry-leading Design Academy, and championed the Group’s Good Business Journey, leading to a number of international responsible retailing awards.
Placing the customer firmly at the heart of the business, Charmaine has completely modernised the 85 year-old Woolworths brand, reinvented the store experience, and implemented a leading loyalty programme. She is currently driving an extensive digital and tech transformation agenda across the business.
