After graduating in Economics at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, Amando started his career in consultancy, corporate banking and later in the renewable energy space, with a broad international experience in the US, Latin America and Europe. Looking to learn about the consumer behaviour, Amando joined Dia, #3 international discounter, in 2011, right after its spin-off from Carrefour, where he leads the Finance, IR and Strategy functions, and since May 2015 also oversees DIA’s business in Portugal. He is actively involved in the digital transformation of the business, and has taken a leading role in the implementation of national and international agreements with peers (Eroski, Intermarché, Casino) and digital players (Amazon, ING). He is a father of three and lives in Madrid.
